I am originally from Chicago, but have lived all over the country. I have been in Northern Virginia for a few years now, working, with plans to go
back to school. While living in Detroit, I volunteered at the Michigan Humane Society, where I met and adopted my 3 year old Shepherd/Ridgeback
mix, Layla. After Hurricane Katrina I went to New Orleans to assist the Humane Society in rescuing dogs who were left behind. There's always been a
place in my heart for animals. I have experience with all kinds, from guinea pigs to bearded dragons and cats to horses. On weekends I sometimes visit my friends' stable to hang out with the horses and volunteer my time with barn duties. Sometimes the best company comes with four legs!

I was born in Philadelphia and have resided in Northern Virginia since graduating from George Mason University. I am a partner in a graphic design firm, but always make time for animals. On weekends I am either at the barn riding my horse, going on long walks with my pug and his companions or curling up with my cat and reading a book. I have to mention that I also have a handful of hermit crabs. You can never have enough little friends - furry or otherwise! Instead of the gym, I prefer to be outdoors running or at a bootcamp class. Over the years I have volunteered my time at the Middleburg Humane Society, 4Paws Cat Rescue, Equine Rescue and many other organizations.

I was born and raised in northern Virginia, and aside from a short stint in Ohio to attend Ohio Wesleyan University, I've lived in this area my entire life. I've always loved animals, and have never been able to walk by any animal without petting them. I, unfortunately, grew up without dogs since I was allergic and that's what my parents felt was best. However, I did ride horses as a teenager, and as soon as I moved out on my own I adopted my dog 'Bailey's Irish Cream,' who is still with me. He's a lab/pit mix and since getting him I've grown to have an affinity for the bully breeds. When it's time to adopt another dog I will specifically be looking for a bully breed.

Prior to this change in career path I worked for title companies for the past 12 years. I decided it was time for a change from the office job where I worked numerous overtime hours to do something with animals in the outdoors. This job opportunity not only allows me to do something that i love, but it also gives me more time at home with my bailey and whichever foster dogs i have at that time (www.aforeverhome.org). I'm looking forward to taking great care of your furry family members.

I am from Northern Va and have several years experience caring for both dogs and horses. For many years I worked with people and machines in the financial industry. I so enjoy visiting with my animal friends and spending quality time with them outdoors. I currently share my home with a handsome young Doberman named Henry.
